Nick Cannon, of the The Masked Singer, dissed Eminem in a new track, referencing ex Mariah Carey. Fans are no doubt shocked that the two famed rappers had issues with one another as have both kept to themselves in recent years.
Mariah Carey has had her share of hardships over the last couple of years - from performance issues on New Year’s Eve to her divorce from Nickelodeon star Cannon. The two stars were married from 2008 to 2016 and share twins, Monroe and Moroccan. Since separating, Cannon has made a career as a popular TV host and is currently hosting The Masked Singer on Fox.
Cannon took to the defense of his ex-wife when Detroit rapper, Eminem, called Carey a “nut job” on his new song with Fat Joe. People reported that on Monday, December 9, Cannon lashed out against Eminem by attacking him with his own explosive track called “The Invitation.” In the diss record, Cannon claimed to expose Eminem’s personal life and secrets.
Cannon had a voicemail intro that was recorded by Suge Knight who claimed he doesn’t usually get involved in others people’s personal quarrels, but said, “Nick is family/This is your invitation/To prove to everybody else what you’re about.” Cannon makes note of Eminem’s song, “Lord Above,” and raps to the 8 Mile star that he told Fat Joe to stay out of it and that Eminem was on crack, singing, “The white boy he fcks with crack/ Pills and smack, sht, and he ’bout to relapse.” Cannon did not stop there as he went on to say that Eminem should call his ex-wife Kim and pick up his daughter, Hailie. In an even lower blow, Cannon aimed at Eminem’s niece, saying he was raising a kid who wasn’t even his.
The straw that broke the camel’s back was when Cannon took credit for getting Eminem on Fat Joe’s song in the first place. The accusation sent the Detroit rapper straight to Twitter to counter the outrageous claims. After only a couple of hours after the song’s release, Eminem had a series of tweets aimed at Cannon, calling him a “bougie f*ck.” In one of the last tweets, he demanded an apology from Cannon, which has still not happened. To make sure he had the last word, Cannon took to his Instagram and invited Eminem to come out and play. While fans are left reeling from the war of words, the whole incident started when Eminem claimed that Carey had her ex-husband neutered. Hopefully, the stars will learn to play nice.
