Meizu is about to launch their new flagship 16S, along with a bigger 16S Plus. According to previous rumours, mass production could have been started until now, and the phone is expected to hit the markets in the next month. Surprisingly, we have seen very few leaks of the phones until now.
A new Meizu phone with model number “M971” has passed the 3C certification. According to the model numbers of previous Meizu flagships, this phone is expected to be the Meizu 16S. The listing reveals nothing except that the Meizu 16S will support up to 24W of fast charging. As compared to some other recent flagships, 24W feels slow, though it is still faster than many phones like the Samsung Galaxy S10 for an example. Meizu phones have been using the 24W fast charging for a long time now.
Most of the specifications of the Meizu 16S are already known. The CEO, Jack Wong himself revealed many of them on the Meizu Forum. The Snapdragon 855 Soc will be powering the phone, along with up to 10 GB of RAM. On the rear side, we will see dual cameras with 48 MP Sony IMX586 as the primary lens. The camera will also support Optical Image Stabilization.
On the front side, the phone will have a 6.2-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display, with Gorilla Glass 6 on top, whereas the 16S Plus could have a bigger 6.76-inch display. Like the previous Meizu flagships, 16S would have a small bezel on top rather than a notch. The top bezel will house the front camera along with all the sensors. Though bezels on all 4 sides would be minimal.
The phone will be launched in April, which is not much far from now. The base variant of this phone could be priced at 3299 Yuan according to the previous leaks. The phone will be first launched in China and will be available in Global markets soon!
