The latest Avengers: Endgame TV spot reveals even more big moments from the film. With the superhero blockbuster now more than two weeks out in theaters, the spoiler ban was finally lifted at the start of the week allowing the public to openly talk about the flick. It also paved the way for the release of a new trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home which leans on what pans out in the Joe and Anthony Russo-directed flick.
The culmination of everything that has transpired in the last 11 years of the MCU starting with Jon Favreau’s Iron Man in 2008, Endgame directly picks up after the catastrophic events of Avengers: Infinity War with Thanos (Josh Brolin) wiping out half of life in the universe using the completed Infinity Gauntlet. Physically and morally depleted, the remaining heroes, led by the original six Earth’s Mightiest Heroes go to great lengths in order to bring back everyone who’s snapped out of existence. But the win in Avengers 4 also came with major losses with heroic deaths from Tony Stark/Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson). It also effectively wraps up the story of Steve Rogers/Captain America (Chris Evans). The film is essentially peppered with memorable moments, some of which can now be relived online thanks to TV spots including this one.
Posted on Marvel Entertainment’s official YouTube channel is a brand new Endgame clip titled “Prestige.” It’s a mix of previously released scenes and new ones, a notable one is the epic shot of all female heroes in the MCU banding together as they protect the secondary gauntlet with all six Infinity Stones against Thanos. Clocking in at 30 seconds, the spot also includes the emotional reunion between Tony and Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland) after the latter disintegrated to dust in Infinity War. There’s also the reveal of Morgan Stark (Lexi Rabe) - Tony and Pepper Potts’ (Gwyneth Paltrow) daughter, and Bruce Banner/Hulk’s (Mark Ruffalo) encounter with the Ancient One (Tilda Swinton). Watch the video below:
These specific bits could be indicative of what the MCU will look like moving forward. Far From Home is already incorporating Peter’s loss of Tony during Endgame. And like through Spider-Man, Iron Man’s legacy might also live on through Morgan potentially becoming a hero herself someday. Banner’s conversation with the Ancient One, meanwhile, laid the ground for the franchise’s own version of the multiverse. And finally, the cool A-Force shot could be teasing of their own film in the future.
Avengers: Endgame has already earned more than $2.2 billion on the global box office less than three weeks and is now poised to dethrone Avatar as the highest-grossing film of all time ($ 2.7 billion). Whether or not it’ll surpass the James Cameron film is another conversation entirely (Screen Rant thinks so), but given its current haul, it’s safe to say that most people have seen it by now. This is more likely why Marvel Studios isn’t keen on keeping story secrets anymore - a 180 degree from their previous strict stance on spoilers. If anything, the primary reason behind these TV spots is to entice people to once again see the film’s entirety in theaters.
