On the final weekend of January and first days of February, Netflix is bringing a new fashion design competition series, a mystery thriller miniseries, the final part of an adult animated series, and a Norwegian drama series. The first month of 2020 was full of new series at Netflix – from horror to drama, and even some documentary series. Among the biggest additions in January were the series Spinning Out, Dracula, AJ and the Queen, the second season of Sex Education, and the third part of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

With a new month come new movies and TV shows, especially licensed content, as Netflix adds a bunch of titles on the first day of every month. Among the movies coming on February 1st are the drama A Little Princess, the 2010 remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street, the sci-fi classic Blade Runner: The Final Cut, the action thriller Dirty Harry, the comedy-drama Driving Miss Daisy, full-on comedy with Scary Movie 2, and a lot of drama with The Pianist. As you can see, there’s something for every taste.

But not everything is licensed content, and as it does every week, Netflix is adding new original content. Users will get to enjoy a new reality show/fashion design competition series hosted by two familiar faces, a mystery miniseries based on a book, the final part of an adult animated tragicomedy, and a Norwegian drama series with a touch of Norse mythology. Here are the best movies and TV shows coming to Netflix this weekend - January 31.

Next In Fashion

There’s a new reality show and fashion design competition series and its name is Next in Fashion. Hosted by designers Tan France (Queer Eye) and Alexa Chung, Next in Fashion will follow 18 designers who will compete in rounds based on design trends and styles that influence what people wear around the world. The prize? $250,000 USD and the opportunity to debut a collection with Net-a-Porter. Next in Fashion is Netflix’s first fashion show, so you might want to check this one out.

The Stranger

Netflix’s The Stranger is a mystery thriller miniseries based on the novel of the same name by Harlan Coben. It follows the lives of suburban families whose secrets and lies are exposed by a stranger (Hannah John-Kamen) who somehow knows a lot about all of them, and who arrives to create chaos among them. Also starring are Richard Armitage, Siobhan Finneran, Jennifer Saunders, and Stephen Rea.

BoJack Horseman - season 6, part 2

The second part of BoJack Horseman’s sixth and final season is finally on Netflix this weekend, and it might not be a cheery one, but it will surely have a powerful message to deliver. Part 2 of BoJack Horseman season 6 will continue BoJack’s journey to recovery, where he will find out that the after-effects of his toxic behavior and lifestyle are harder to treat than addiction itself. Hopefully, BoJack Horseman will give closure to all its main characters, as there won’t be more episodes after this batch.

Ragnarok

Ragnarok is a Norwegian series that will surely appeal to those who are into Norse mythology, drama, and action when it hits Netflix this weekend. Ragnarok is set in the fictional Norwegian town of Edda, where warm winters and violent downpours force its young inhabitants to respond to climate change. Some people believe these changes mean that they are headed for another Ragnarok, unless someone intervenes in time – and the answer might be one of the new kids in town.
