This weekend, Netflix is – surprisingly – not adding much content for Valentine’s Day, though it is bringing a highly anticipated rom-com sequel, along with an animated movie and the second season of a crime series. Netflix tends to add content to its catalogue according to the biggest holidays and celebrations that approach: for example, it dropped a lot of Christmas content since November. Weirdly enough, that’s not the case for Valentine’s Day, with only one original romance movie arriving this week.
Last weekend, Netflix added season 8 of Arrow and Better Call Saul season 4, as well as the original documentary series The Pharmacist, the drama film Horse Girl, and the fantasy horror series Locke & Key. On the licensed content front, this week is going back to movies, with Josh and Benny Safdie’s crime thriller Good Time, Joe Wright’s Anna Karenina, and Angelina Jolie’s By The Sea.
As for original content, there will be something for all ages and tastes, with the sequel to a teen rom-com, season 2 of a crime drama series, and a new animated series starring a well-known sheep. Here are the best movies and TV shows coming to Netflix this weekend - February 14.
To All The Boys: P.S. I Still Love You
After the success of To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, the sequel is finally on Netflix. Titled To All The Boys: P.S. I Still Love You, the movie is based on Jenny Han’s novel P.S. I Still Love You, and has the main cast back (except for Israel Broussard) to continue Lara and Peter’s story. To All The Boys 2 follows the young couple as they navigate through many firsts and manage the complexity of emotions – but things will take a turn when another recipient of Lara’s old love letters, John Ambrose (Jordan Fisher), re-enters her life.
Narcos: Mexico - season 2
The critically acclaimed crime series Narcos: Mexico is back with a second season on Netflix this weekend, over two years after season 1 was released. After the reveal of the series narrator at the end of season 1 (DEA agent Walt Breslin, played by Scoot McNairy) and Kiki’s death, the DEA are going to war with the cartel, while Felix Gallardo (Diego Luna) and others are at the height of their power. The DEA will have to take extreme and lethal measures to take down the cartel, but that obviously won’t be as simple as they would like.
A Shaun The Sheep Movie: Farmageddon
Shaun the sheep has a new movie, and it’s a very special one. A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon follows Shaun and company as they come across with an alien with strange powers who crash-lands near Mossy Bottom Farm. Shaun and the alien become friends, and they must run from a dangerous organization who wants to capture the mysterious creature. A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmaggedon was released in October 2019 in the UK, with Netflix getting distribution rights for the U.S., Canada, and Latin America.
