Here’s what’s coming to Netflix this weekend (December 13). Netflix continues bringing Christmas content with a special episode of a TV series, a comedy special, and Michael Bay’s latest movie (not Christmas related, of course). The streaming wars continue and so does life at Netflix, as the platform continues adding content – both licensed and original – every week for its users to enjoy.
Last week was all about Noah Bauchman’s Marriage Story, the sci-fi horror series V-Wars, the final season of Fuller House, and A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby was in charge of bringing the holiday spirit. As for licensed content, Netflix added War on Everyone and From Paris with Love to add some action to the mix, and this week is getting a dose of horror with It Comes At Night and a dash of drama with A Family Man.
The original content arriving this week is more Christmas-oriented than in previous weeks, but they’re different styles of comedy. In addition to that, Netflix users will get the chance to watch Michael Bay’s latest action movie with Ryan Reynolds on the lead. Here are the best movies and TV shows coming to Netflix this weekend.
A Family Reunion Christmas
The comedy series Family Reunion is getting its own Netflix Christmas special in-between seasons this weekend. Family Reunion premiered in July, 2019 and was renewed for a second season and a holiday special in September. Appropriately titled A Family Reunion Christmas, the episode will see M’Dear (Loretta Devine) reuniting with her sister, Amelia (Jackee Harry), and it won’t be as friendly as some expect. Of course, there will be subtle nods to Sister Sister with Jackee Harry and Tia Mowry sharing the screen.
6 Underground
Those looking for an action movie on Netflix this weekend amidst all the Christmas content will be happy to know Michael Bay has your back. 6 Underground follows a group of six individuals who after faking their deaths form a vigilante squad in order to bury their pasts and change the future. 6 Underground stars Ryan Reynolds as the leader of the team, Mélanie Laurent, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Ben Hardy, Adria Arjona, Dave Franco, and Corey Hawkins. Guaranteed Michael Bay-style action and explosions.
Jack Whitehall: Christmas With My Father
Jack Whitehall is now spending Christmas with his father, and although it sounds like the most normal thing, it really isn’t when it comes to the Whitehalls. After three seasons of Jack Whitehall: Travels with My Father, the comedian is ready to spend the holidays with his notoriously stuffy father, Michael, on Netflix this weekend. Christmas With My Father will have some very special guests, such as Hugh Bonneville and Queer Eye’s Jonathan Van Ness, Antoni Porowski, and Tan France.
