A new datamine leak from Respawn Entertainment’s Apex Legends hints at a new character called Prophet and their impressive special skillset. As well as hints of a new Survival Mode, the latest datamine has unearthed some interesting details about potential characters who could join the game’s roster. Apex Legends launched with eight main characters, as well as the unlockable Caustic and Mirage. Fans knew it wouldn’t be long before the character choices would expand, and now, players might have their first look at who’s coming next....

117 new Emojis are being added to the official emoji list, with the update set for release sometime later in 2020. They join the 3,000-plus already available. Notable additions include people hugging, “Italian hand gesture,” bubble tea, grave stones and a plunger. There is also a greater focus on gender-inclusivity, as well as adding gender-neutral emojis. You can now have a woman in a suit or a man in a wedding dress, as well as the Transgender flag and the Transgender symbol....

Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick confirm the next film in the series will be R-rated, even though it’ll be at Marvel. Earlier this year, Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox became official, meaning the Mouse House now has the film rights to the various Marvel characters Fox controlled, like the X-Men and Fantastic Four. During July’s San Diego Comic-Con, Kevin Feige revealed new movies for both of those properties are in development, though it is unknown when they will actually be released....

Marketplace and This American Life retracted their stories based on the work of Mike Daisey due to further reporting and supplemental accounts from his translator. Daisey’s one-man show relived a trip to Foxconn where he claimed, among other things, to have met “14 year olds, 13 year olds, even 12 year olds” who toiled in Apple’s sweatshops for multiple shifts at a time. He also met people deformed from working on Apple products....
