Netflix just launched a new landing page on its service called “Celebrate the Oscars.” Netflix itself has a contentious history with the awards ceremony, thanks to its streaming entry into the theatrical market. In a blog post today Nokia Siemens claims that Apple’s latest smart phone operating system supports a technology called Network Controlled Fast Dormancy. This new technology brings the iPhone and its’ network together to create the most ideal performance. This means the iPhone’s software can work with the cellular towers to find ones with the least amount of congestion. In the end this technology allows the iPhone to run more efficiently and last longer throughout the day....

Yesterday, we reported on purported photos of the larger, 5.5-inch iPhone 6’s 2915mAh battery pack among other parts, and today, new clear shots of the 4.7-inch models have leaked. Photos of the smaller next-generation iPhone’s 1810mAh battery first hit the web in July, and these new photos add weight to the previous photos being legitimate. For comparison, the iPhone 5s’s battery is 1560mAh, but because of the higher-res screen on the iPhone 6, it’s possible that the bigger battery pack could be offset but the additional pixel pushing....

The UK government expects to see electricity generated from a fusion reactor by 2040. £220 million has been invested in the designing of a theoretical nuclear fusion power station to replicate solar processes here on Earth. The aim is to generate power using what they are calling a Spherical Tokamak for Energy Production, or STEP. A tokamak is a device that heats hydrogen gas to 100 million degrees celsius and uses a magnetic field to wrangle plasma until they can force nuclear fusion....
